Twin Cities Small Emerging Growth Companies (SEGC) exists to empower small business owners and solopreneurs in Minnesota’s Twin Cities. We understand that growing a business is challenging, and the road from startup to success often feels lonely and uncertain. SEGC was created to change that. Through expert-led discussions, collaborative learning, and meaningful connections, we’re here to help you grow smarter, work together, and succeed in business.
At SEGC, we focus on three core principles: Learning, Supporting, and Connecting. These values shape every aspect of our monthly meetings and interactions.
Learning
SEGC provides a platform for members to gain actionable insights and expand their knowledge. Each meeting features thought leaders and expert speakers addressing topics that help business owners move forward. Group discussions and breakout sessions deepen the learning experience, encouraging active participation and thoughtful exchange among attendees.
Supporting
Our community fosters an environment of shared experiences and mutual support. SEGC members discuss challenges openly, share advice, and celebrate the common ground of entrepreneurship. Vulnerability isn’t a weakness here; it’s an admired strength. Together, we navigate the complexities of business ownership with understanding and encouragement.

A Vision for Twin Cities Entrepreneurs
SEGC was founded in 2004 by Wyn Davies with a vision to inspire and equip Twin Cities entrepreneurs through shared learning and community. Over the years, our membership has steadily grown, fueled by the passion and referrals of our members. In 2017, leadership transitioned to Peter Beaumont, whose experience and dedication have helped SEGC thrive.
Together with our Board of Directors, Peter continues to build on Wyn’s original vision, creating opportunities for small business owners to learn, support, and connect.
Emyr Wyn Davies died peacefully at the age of 83 on May 4, 2025.
Wyn began his career as an electrical engineer and worked for Texas Instruments in England before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1968. He and his family eventually relocated to Minnesota, where he was a resident of Eden Prairie for over thirty-five years.
In 1994, Wyn started C.F. Advisors, LLC and years later founded the Twin Cities Small Emerging Growth Companies to support Twin Cities business owners and entrepreneurs.
